Columbia University Nursing School
Rita John, DNP at Columbia University Nursing School recognized that diagnostic dilemma pose a problem for all practitioners and saw an opportunity to use the Isabel diagnosis tool at Columbia University School of Nursing to improve the diagnostic skills of Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) students in the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) programs.
Nursing Diagnosis Skill at Columbia University: We congratulate the university for launching a study to evaluate the confidence and diagnostic accuracy of PNP and FNP students over the course of their program, track diagnostic accuracy over the study period, and evaluate differences in diagnostic accuracy between FNP and PNP students in reviewing pediatric cases. This innovative project uses a separate program with online cases developed based upon actual cases without revealing protected health information.
Isabel is pleased partner with and support the Columbia University School of Nursing program, and look forward to the results of the study.
